Founded on a Simple Idea: IT Support Done Right
Before Precision IT Consulting existed, Ali Usman spent years working across nearly every corner of the IT industry, break-fix shops, managed service providers, in-house support for a single employer, and he didn’t like what he saw. Client technology sat neglected for months at a time. Nobody was accountable when things went wrong. The technicians actually doing the work were often treated about as poorly as the clients they served. In 2014, Ali set out to do it differently and started Precision IT Consulting.
What “Precision” Actually Means
The name means two things to Ali. Managed IT takes precision: patches applied correctly, backups tested rather than just scheduled and forgotten, security configured properly instead of left on default settings. It also takes precision to build a solution around what a specific business actually needs, instead of handing every client the same package regardless of fit.

Built From Nothing, One Client at a Time
Ali started with no outside investment and no client list. He built the business on his own reputation and hands-on skill, hiring his first employee before the end of that first year. Most of the early growth came from knocking on doors across Surrey and introducing the company to business owners who’d never heard of it. The company moved into a larger office in Surrey in March 2017.
What We Found Behind One Client’s Network
In 2024, a manufacturer with 200 staff brought Precision IT Consulting in to fix unreliable wireless and a network nobody had properly managed in years. Looking closer, the team found something worse: every employee had access to every file on the system. The cause traced back to how a previous IT provider had recovered the company’s server after a crash.
The data came back. The permissions protecting it never did.
Precision IT Consulting reprovisioned the wireless network to solve the performance problems and ran a full security audit to help the client tighten both internal and external access. It became one of the largest projects in the company’s history, and it led to five new hires that year.

Precision IT Consulting is independently owned. No private equity, no outside owners, no one to answer to but its clients.
Who’s Behind the Work
Today, Precision IT Consulting has grown to 12 people, nine in technical roles, two in sales, and one in administration, and is expanding into new service areas while pursuing advanced certifications in IT security.
Every technician here is a direct employee, never a subcontractor. Ali hires for reliability and curiosity about technology first, technical skill second. He looks for people who can explain a problem to a client with patience instead of jargon. Complex IT decisions get translated into plain language, so business owners can make an informed choice instead of just taking someone’s word for it. Every client gets a named account manager, reachable however works best for them, and the company holds itself to a defined Service Level Objective that it regularly beats rather than just meets.
Who We Work With
Precision IT Consulting currently supports 102 clients across manufacturing, industrial operations, medical and dental practices, and professional firms like accountants and notaries. The company isn’t built around any one industry. The same fundamentals, security, reliability, documentation done properly, apply whether a client makes parts or files tax returns. Several clients have stuck around for 10 to 12 years.
